Handbagdesigner-Interview: Rebecca

Die Designerin Rebecca Allen ist die Designerin des Labels „Rebecca“. Nachdem sie 2008 als Finalistin in einem unabhängigen Handtaschendesigner Award bekannt wurde, bekam sie viele Anfragen von Shops und gründete daraufhin ihr eigenes Label. In unserem Interview erfahrt ihr mehr über das amerikanische Taschenlabel von Rebecca Allen: 

Where are you from?

Our Business is located on the eastern shore of the United States.

What is the name of the label?

Our Label name is Rebecca.

What is the idea behind the name?

Our lines name is the designers first name.

What is the inspiration behind your collection?

The inspiration behind each collection is creating a whimsical, quirky look

that is functional and fun!

Since when do you run your own collection?

The Rebecca line started in 2008.

How or why did you start designing bags?

Rebecca Allen was a finalist in the Independent Handbag Designer Awards in

2008. While having her bags displayed in Henri Bendel on 5th Ave in New

York City she was approached by several shops and individuals looking to

purchase her line. Since then Rebecca decided to take the plunge and start

her line!

Do you exhibit on trade fairs?

Yes we attend all Accessories the Show trade fairs in New York City. Our

booth number for this May's show is 1424.

What kind of materials do you use in your collection?

For our handbag and small accessories we use cowhide leathers in a
variety of colors.  In our jewelry line we are using a mixture of vintage
pieces with a modern twist.  For the Holiday/Resort 2010 line we are using
vintage lace, and glass beads. These are mixed with other modern pieces to
create our funky, quirky and whimsical line!
